Barrio 2.0 urban single-family housing 2020

This new build home proposal can be used as a model to help educate and showcase the powers of net zero, or even net positive buildings. By having the opportunity of placing this home in the backyard of any Tucson suburban home we can create a higher density neighborhood and reduce suburban homes energy use. The option for this house to be an additional dwelling or its own house increases its ability for wide spread adoption. There will be a prototype of this project built on the University of Arizona campus, meaning that we can go beyond the restraints of the building code to show how new, innovative systems can provide a positive impact on the efficiency of single family homes.
